Pearse Og under 12's certainly saved their best performance for the last league game of the season.

With many players unavailable the panel of 13 travelled to Tir na Og, Portadown in hope rather than anticipation.

Playing in tough and sweltery conditions the team battled heroically from start to finish. The defence of Adam Murtagh, Lee Murtagh, Sean O’Neill, Charles Leonard, Aoife Boyle and Conor Burns, making his league debut, worked tirelessly and tackled everything that moved holding a strong Portadown back. The engine room of the team, Odhran Houlahan and the returning Conor Toner were immense, working all over the field and popping up with vital points.

In attack, Padraig McGrath, Eoghan Hasson and the marauding Ronan Davidson competed for every ball and provided the ammunition for the busy full forward line of Owen Kelly, who popped up with another crucial goal, and the courageous Leah Gribbin, who only passed a late fitness test to play!

Well done to everyone and we now look forward to Moy tournament next week. After the July holidays, we will be back training and playing challenge games throughout the summer. All team members and anyone interested in joining our club please come along every Wednesday.
