The Under 12s had a busy but successful week with 2 hard fought victories on Wednesday 3rd September and Saturday 6th September against Derrynoose and Tullysarran respectively.

On Wednesday night, this young and progressive team travelled to Derrynoose where they had to battle hard against a young and determined Derrynoose side. The Ogs started brightly and dominated midfield with Ethan McKeown and Conor Toner well to the fore, however, after taking a significant lead the team rested on their laurels and were pegged back and Derrynoose rose to the occasion. At this stage, Ogs defence were really under pressure and were lucky not to concede any goals in that period.

The second half was a similar tale with the Ogs man ageing to get the significant scores but Derrynoose had much of the play. Crucial goals from Leah Gribbin, playing against her relatives, managed to see the team over the line and keep their unbeaten run in tact.

On Saturday, the Ogs entertained a very strong Tullysarran team who had beaten the Ogs earlier in the season. However, it was obvious that the Ogs meant business from the start, and they quickly brushed aside the challenge with some great controlled football and high class finishing , with all forwards managing to score at will.

This was a great team effort with star performances from the returning Charles Leonard, Conor Burns and Lee Murtagh in defence. The midfield duo of Ethan McKeown and Conor Toner is really beginning to reap rewards and up front Odhran Houlahan, Jack Duffy , Casey Mullan and Ronan Davidson were always a constant threat for the hardworking Tullysarran defence .

The league comes to a conclusion with the young Ogs team travelling to Granemore on Wednesday for a 6.30pm start. This will be another great test for the team but one which they are already relishing. They now know there is no room for complacency and that they must remain focused if they're to succeed
