The academy is open to all boys and girls aged between 10 -14 yrs old and is designed to give the children the opportunity to hone their Gaelic skills in a safe, fun and friendly environment .It is also set up give children some much needed exercise in the darkest of months so that children can get away from the XBOX and television!

The Academy will be staffed by volunteer coaches and Pearse Óg members who are very experienced, qualified and enthusiastic and will ensure that skills and fitness are developed in a fun and enjoyable manner .

Tony Davidson, Pearse Óg Youth Officer states "for many children Gaelic football stops over the winter period, so this programme is intended to ensure that children’s skills do not lapse and that when it comes to April and the competitive season, coaches will not have to start from scratch. With the high quality facilities at Cathedral Road Recreation Centre, we can ensure that the children have a great time in a safe environment’

The Academy will continue for the remaining 5 weeks on Wednesday evenings at 6-7pm and is free of charge. All children are asked to register on the night and come appropriately dressed for winter sport. For further information please go to Pearse Óg website or contact Tony Davidson on 07780954480.
