DONAL POWELL U-10 TOURNAMENT
Nothing could dampen the childrens spirits for our annual Donal Powell U10 memorial tournament 2016. As usual we had a great turnout with 25 teams from all over Ulster and Leinster. Not only were the clubs playing for our cup this year we added a shield and plate which was a great success. For the second year in succession Pearse Óg lifted the cup beating a gallant Killeavy St. Moninne’s. The shield winners were Derrynoose who beat our neighbours Harps with a golden score. The plate winners were Steelstown Brian Óg’s (Derry) beating a formidable Middletown Eoghan Rua. Player of the tournament went to Oran O’Callaghan Pearse Óg. We would like to thank all teams that participated to make this tournament one of the most prestigious tournaments in Ulster and afar and also the Powell family who presented all the trophies and medals, we would also like to thank our sponsor Business Account Services (G. Davidson) and a special thank you to JG Catering (J Gordon) the referees and everyone who helped throughout the day there are too many to mention individually

U-10 Boys Report/Training
Saturday last was a massive occasion for under 10 teams as they were representing their club in the annual Donal Powell Memorial Tournament at Paírc Na Piarsaigh Óga.
As usual our young gaels did themselves and the club proud playing some brilliant football despite the wet conditions. Our Gold team were very assured in the group stages and qualified for a Shield Quarter final with our neighbours Armagh Harps. In a very entertaining game our lads lost narrowly but can be very proud of themselves and their performances on the day.
The Green team were also very confident in the group stages remaining unbeaten and setting up a Cup quarter final with Keady. In a tense encounter the lads held their nerve and ran out convincing winners. Next up was a semi-final clash with a well fancied Maghery team. Our lads produced one of their best displays this year playing some great football to reach the final for the second year in a row. Killeavy were our opponents for the final which was played in front of a very large crowd. They proved to be very tough nuts to crack but our lads would not be denied and lead by their captain Michael Mc Sorley and Player of the Tournament Odhran Callaghan the Ógs ran out 0-8 to 0-6 winners.
Many thanks to our club for what was a memorable day for all our young gaels. Also thanks to all our parents, families, friends and club mates for their help and support throughout the day, it was much appreciated by the Under 10 players and management
